The Dylan
The Netherlands - North Holland - Amsterdam

A theatre of style, elegance and sensuality.

Built in one of Amsterdam’s historical landmarks close to the Keizersgracht, one of the city’s famous canals, the hotel Dylan is an intimate retreat brimming with urban sophistication and personalized service.

For 150 years this place was home to the Dutch Theatre Academy until a fire destroyed it in 1778. After that it became the property of a Church charity project until the late 20th century when it was converted into a hotel.

The architectural refurbishment of the building respected the past and embraced its new future and the interior design conceived a set of welcoming spaces imbued with chic elegance. In the themed rooms, colours, textures and moods were intertwined to allow the visitor to experience unique and sensual settings.

Hidden away behind the building are a private patio with a small garden, a bar and the famous Vinkeles restaurant. The French inspired cuisine fuses traditional and modern elements to create dishes that are dramatic in their presentation and surprising in their flavours.

A short distance away, either on foot or on one of the hotel bikes, are the city’s main attractions. Wander through picturesque streets and canals, enter Anne Frank’s house or the Van Gogh museum, and discover the stores and cafés of the hospitable Amsterdam until the curtain fall at The Dylan.

Reviews

“The hotel is charming - great location - easy to walk everywhere and it is just a stone throw from the lovely boutique shopping area. The historical building is wonderful. We had a canal view suite - and was spacious and airy. We had breakfast in the room, which was excellent. We enjoyed a superb meal at Vinkeles during our stay which was incredible. Hope to be back soon.”

“If you like small, boutique hotels, this one is a standout. The staff is solicitous but not intrusive, just always there when you need them. I especially liked the outdoor courtyard for dining and/or drinks. There is also a charming small bar just beyond the reception area. Opposite this bar is a large sitting room of dark panelling and comfortable chairs with a continuous fire burning to add to the ambiance.”
“The whole stay there every member of the staff was extremely pleasant. The room was great with the bathroom on the 2nd floor of our room. The bed was very comfortable and overall very clean. I recommend eating at the restaurant Vinkeles, this was a dining experience to remember. It will be a meal I will never forget.”

“Love this place. My room was overlooking the courtyard which was a treat. The staff were very friendly but not "in your face". The interiors of the hotel were so stylish and beautiful. Very central and quiet. I’ll go back in a heartbeat!!!”
